How to get your HubSpot Owner ID

Find your HubSpot Owner ID so SyncIn can associate synced messages with the correct salesperson or team member in your CRM.

What is a HubSpot Owner ID?

Every user in your HubSpot account has a unique Owner ID. When SyncIn logs a WhatsApp or LinkedIn message as an engagement in HubSpot, it associates that engagement with a specific owner — the salesperson or team member who owns the contact.

This is how synced conversations appear under the correct person in your CRM, making it easy to track communication history per rep.

Finding your Owner ID

Follow these steps to locate the Owner ID for any user in your HubSpot account:

1

Click the Settings cog in the main navigation bar in HubSpot.

2

In the left-hand menu, click “Properties”.

3

In the search bar under “Contact properties”, type Owner.

4

Hover over “Contact owner” in the results list and click “View”.

5

Scroll to the bottom of the page. Your HubSpot Owner IDs are listed in the “Dropdown options” table, under the “Internal Value” column.

The Internal Value is a numeric ID (e.g. 123456789). This is the Owner ID you need to provide during SyncIn setup.

6

Copy the Owner ID for the user you want to associate with synced messages, then go to your SyncIn dashboard and click the HubSpot setup button to paste it in.

Tip: Default Owner

If you receive messages from contacts that aren't assigned to a specific salesperson, SyncIn will use the Owner ID you provide as the default owner. We recommend creating a dedicated “SyncIn” user in HubSpot for this purpose, so unassigned conversations are easy to find and reassign later.
